Regional Head of Transformation (Operations) - APAC

Job description

​One of our leading global insurance client is seeking a dynamic Head of Transformation – Operations to drive strategic change across their APAC operations. This is a high-impact leadership role, responsible for optimising operational performance, accelerating automation and AI adoption, and aligning IT and operations strategy to fuel long-term growth.

💼 What You'll Do

Leadership & Change Management

  • Lead and inspire high-performing transformation teams and cross-functional squads.

  • Build change readiness through structured communication and engagement.

  • Advise senior leadership on transformation risks, interdependencies, and progress.

  • Champion a customer-first, digital-first, agile mindset across the organisation.

Strategic Planning – IT & Operations

  • Co-create the IT & Operations transformation roadmap with the COO, CIO, and senior leadership.

  • Ensure alignment of programs with corporate goals and operational capabilities.

  • Manage transformation portfolio prioritisation, resource planning, and benefits realisation.

  • Ensure compliance, risk management, and regulatory alignment.

Digitalisation & Automation

  • Lead automation strategy including RPA, workflow digitisation, and AI-based document processing.

  • Implement scalable platforms to enhance STP and self-service capabilities.

  • Partner with IT and Digital teams for front-to-back digital integration.

  • Promote data-driven decisions using advanced analytics and AI insights.

Operational Optimisation

  • Streamline processes, reduce costs, and elevate customer experience.

  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Define metrics to monitor operational efficiency and health.

  • Redesign legacy workflows to fit new digital operating models.

AI, Data & Innovation

  • Lead innovation in predictive analytics, process intelligence, and AI-enhanced servicing.

  • Pilot emerging tech and scale successful use cases.

  • Collaborate with insurtechs, fintechs, and ecosystem partners.

✅ What We're Looking For

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Business, Technology, Operations, or related field.

  • 12–15+ years’ experience in insurance operations, transformation, or strategy roles.

  • Strong background in digital transformation, process optimisation, and automation.

  • Proven success leading complex change initiatives in global insurance environments.

  • Fluent in Mandarin – essential for stakeholder engagement across Greater China.

Skills & Certifications

  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent stakeholder and cross-functional leadership.

  • Deep knowledge of digital trends, AI, RPA, and data-driven operations.

  • Preferred: Lean Six Sigma, PMP, Agile/Scrum certifications.
