Lead IAM Threats Architect

Job description

​A global financial institution is seeking a highly technical, hands-on Lead IAM Threats Architect to strengthen its Identity and Access Management (IAM) security capabilities. This role sits within the IAM Threats, Architecture and Controls function and is responsible for architecting, enhancing and operationalising next-generation identity threat detection and response capabilities across the enterprise.

Responsibilities
  • Drive the vision, strategy and roadmap for identity access controls and identity threat detection and response.

  • Use threat modelling frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and MITRE DEFEND, together with cyber threat intelligence, to design and enhance identity security controls.

  • Partner with Cyber Operations, Security Engineering, Risk and Architecture teams to design and operationalise identity threat detection controls and response playbooks.

  • Define and update IAM policies, standards and control frameworks that protect against emerging identity-based threats, including risks related to AI and non-human identities.

  • Lead technical solution evaluations, proof-of-concepts, and the delivery of IAM threat detection and response technologies.

  • Act as the subject matter expert for the identity threat landscape, detection logic, and architectural best practices.

  • Ensure alignment with regulatory standards and enterprise cybersecurity frameworks.


Requirements
  • More than 15 years of cybersecurity experience with strong exposure to cyber operations, threat detection and response, and IAM-related security engineering.

  • Deep knowledge of Active Directory, Entra ID, and privileged access technologies such as CyberArk and Beyond Trust.

  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS, especially from an identity threat perspective.

  • Practical experience in threat modelling, identity-focused detection strategies, and hands-on engineering of security controls.

  • Excellent communication, documentation and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Experience working within regulated environments, particularly in financial services.
