Solutions Architect

Job description

​We are partnering with a fast-growing, product-led technology company to hire an experienced Solutions Architect to help shape and own a critical platform architecture. This is a highly hands-on role where you’ll work closely with product and engineering teams to make pragmatic technology decisions that balance speed, cost, scalability, and real business impact.

 

What You'll Do

  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to challenge requirements and design solutions that deliver real customer and business value.

  • Lead the design of secure, scalable, and resilient architectures, making clear trade-offs between speed, cost, and quality.

  • Champion simplicity by questioning assumptions and avoiding unnecessary complexity or expensive vendor solutions.

  • Stay hands-on through code reviews, incident response, and post-mortems to ensure designs work in production.

  • Enable and mentor engineers, fostering strong technical judgment, autonomy, and a culture of continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong focus on backend and distributed systems.

  • Proven experience designing cloud-native architectures on AWS, Azure, or GCP with a strong cost-optimisation mindset.

  • Solid understanding of system design trade-offs (consistency vs availability, sync vs async, failure handling).

  • Strong product and business thinking — able to link technical decisions to customer experience and business outcomes.

  • Experience coaching and mentoring engineers and collaborating across product, risk, compliance, and operations teams.
