Lead Data Engineer

An exciting opportunity has opened up to spearhead the data engineering function for one of Singapore’s largest and most respected asset management institutions. As the company advances its digital transformation journey and moves to public cloud infrastructure, this role is critical in shaping the foundation of a modern, scalable data ecosystem.
Reporting directly to the Head of Data & Analytics, you'll play a hands-on leadership role in building high-performance data platforms and pipelines, enabling smarter decisions across the enterprise.

🔧 Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and manage secure, cloud-native data platforms

  • Build and optimize robust data pipelines (ETL/ELT) with built-in quality checks

  • Ensure compliance with data governance and security best practices

  • Maintain metadata lineage and data cataloguing for transparency and usability

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to solve data challenges and drive innovation

🎯 What We’re Looking For
  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering or ML engineering in production environments

  • Proficiency in Python and SQL; knowledge of Java, Scala, or C++is a plus

  • Hands-on with GCP, AWS, BigQuery, Kafkaor similar technologies

  • Expertise in DataOps, MLOps, and DevOps practices

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

  • Relevant cloud or data engineering certificationsare advantageous

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
