Head of AI CoE

Job description

We are partnering with a Global bank and they are looking for a strategic and technically strong AI leader to head up their global AI vision, reporting directly to the C-suite. This is a rare opportunity to build and lead a world-class AI Centre of Excellence, define the long-term roadmap, and deliver transformative value at scale.

🔑 Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and drive the organisation’s long-term AI vision and roadmap.

  • Act as a thought leader, aligning AI strategy with business goals and market trends.

  • Evangelise AI capabilities across executive teams, business units, and external stakeholders.

Centre of Excellence (CoE) & Governance

  • Establish and scale the AI CoE, including operating models and KPIs.

  • Set enterprise-wide standards, frameworks, and best practices for AI/ML.

  • Oversee responsible AI practices, governance, and compliance.

Innovation & Solution Delivery

  • Identify high-value AI use cases and lead end-to-end delivery.

  • Oversee AI model design, deployment, and integration into core products and services.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with technology, product, and business teams.

Talent & Capability Building

  • Build and lead a multidisciplinary AI team (Data Science, ML Engineering, Product).

  • Champion upskilling programs to enhance AI literacy across the organisation.

  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Translate business needs into actionable AI solutions.

  • Build external partnerships with academia, vendors, and industry bodies.

  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.

📌 Requirements

Essential

  • 10+ years in AI/ML leadership roles, ideally in complex, global organisations.

  • Proven track record delivering enterprise AI solutions with real business outcomes.

  • Deep technical expertise in AI/ML platforms, tools, and frameworks.

  • Strong grasp of AI ethics, governance, and regulatory implications.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

  • Advanced degree (PhD or Master’s) in AI, Computer Science, Data Science, or similar.

  • Experience building a CoE or leading AI transformation programs.

  • Published work, patents, or conference speaking experience in the AI/ML space.

  • Salary: Up to $400K base + bonus
