Data Engineer
Job description
An exciting opportunity to join one of the of fastest growing financial services companies in the APAC region. This role will report into the director of data engineering and be responsible for building out data platforms and data infrastructure as the firm moves to public cloud. This is a landmark transformation taking place at a great brand so it will be a unique opportunity to learn and grow your data engineering skills.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows that ingest, transform, and deliver high-quality data across the organization.
Build scalable, reliable data platforms and data lakes leveraging modern public cloud services (e.g., AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, GCP Dataflow, Databricks, or Snowflake).
Partner with data scientists, investment analysts, and technology teams to ensure data availability, quality, and performance for analytics and reporting use cases.
Implement data governance, lineage, and quality controls in accordance with enterprise data management standards.
Optimize data storage and query performance across structured and unstructured data sources.
Contribute to the adoption of DevOps and DataOps practices (CI/CD, automated testing, infrastructure as code).
Ensure all solutions comply with information security, regulatory, and compliance requirements relevant to the asset management industry.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
4+ years of experience in data engineering, ideally within financial services or other highly regulated industries.
Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation and automation.
Hands-on experience with at least one major public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Experience with modern data stack tools such as Databricks, Snowflake, Spark, or similar distributed data processing frameworks.
Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL orchestration, and data warehousing concepts.
Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).

Salary
Salary range: SGD 120K - 150K base salary plus bonus
