Data Platform Engineer

​We are partnering with a well-established financial institution who is seeking a highly skilled Data Platform Engineer (SRE) to join their Technology team. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of enterprise data platforms that power investment management operations.

What You'll Do

  • Drive Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices for data platforms, ensuring high availability and operational excellence.

  • Lead onboarding and optimisation of Databricks and Snowflake environments.

  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation using Terraform, Ansible, and other modern tools.

  • Design and enhance monitoring, observability, and incident response processes.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, robust, and efficient data infrastructure solutions.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in SRE for infrastructure and data platforms (not application-level SRE).

  • Hands-on expertise with Databricks, Snowflake, and cloud technologies (AWS preferred).

  • Strong skills in IaC and automation: Terraform, Ansible, scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell).

  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, Splunk) and performance tuning.

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM or equivalent experience; financial services background is a plus.
