Associate Data Scientist
Job description
An international investment bank is seeking a Data Scientist to join its growing AI Center of Excellence. In this high-impact role, you’ll collaborate closely with business stakeholders to design, build, and deploy cutting-edge AI products and data-driven solutions.
🔧 What You’ll Do
Build state-of-the-art AI solutions including LLM-powered agents, RAG pipelines, prompt engineering frameworks, and multi-turn conversational systems.
Lead the integration, deployment, and monitoring of GenAI products across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.
Enable scalable data and analytics platforms, ensuring secure and compliant AI operations aligned with Nomura standards.
Partner with global business teams to shape their AI and analytics roadmaps, acting as a trusted advisor on how data science can drive transformation.
Apply strong risk and controls mindset, ensuring AI systems meet governance and compliance requirements.
🧠 What You Bring
Experience in designing and developing AI agents, LLM-based applications, RAG pipelines, and agentic frameworks.
Hands-on experience building context-aware, multi-turn conversational models.
Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and Unix scripting for AI workflows and data pipelines.
Experience evaluating and tuning models, structuring prompts, and applying retrieval, grounding, and safety layers in production.
Solid understanding of data modelling, hybrid data architectures, and cloud-native data systems (AWS EC2, EMR, or equivalent).
Ability to develop and maintain APIs, SDKs, microservices, and server-side AI components.
Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and automated deployment pipelines.
Strong analytical skills to evaluate model performance, interpret data-driven insights, and recommend technical solutions.
Experience with React and developing lightweight UIs for AI workflows.
Familiarity with modern orchestration, monitoring, and observability for AI systems.
Understanding of enterprise integration patterns within a financial environment.
🎓 What We're Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field with 5+ years of data/AI engineering or data science experience (financial services preferred), OR a Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related field.
Experience working with global, multicultural teams across time zones.
Professional certifications in AI/ML, cloud, or DevOps (e.g., AWS ML, TensorFlow, Kubernetes) are advantageous.
