Data Scientist - AI / Generative AI
Job description
Our client, a leading global financial institution, is seeking a Data Scientist with strong AI and Generative AI expertise to join their Group Technology team. This role sits within the AI Centre of Excellence, where you will design, build, and deploy scalable AI and Large Language Model (LLM) solutions that deliver real business impact across the organisation.
You will work at the forefront of applied AI, collaborating with global stakeholders to translate complex business needs into robust, production-ready AI solutions while adhering to enterprise AI governance standards.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and fine-tune LLMs, generative models, and end-to-end AI pipelines
Develop RAG architectures, embeddings, and vector search solutions
Translate business requirements into practical, scalable AI applications
Deploy microservices and secure server-side APIs
Implement CI/CD automation using tools such as Jenkins and GitLab
Work with AWS cloud infrastructure and modern data architectures
Collaborate with cross-functional, global teams within a governed AI framework
Requirements
4+ years’ experience in Data Science, AI, or Generative AI
Strong Python and SQL skills
Hands-on experience with Hugging Face, LangChain, and/or LlamaIndex
Solid understanding of prompt engineering, embeddings, and vector databases
Experience with microservices, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
AI and/or Cloud certifications are highly advantageous
