Engineering Lead - Payments

Job description

​Our client, a leading international bank, is currently seeking an Engineering Lead to take ownership of the design, delivery, and support of domestic payment systems across the APAC region.
This strategic leadership role demands strong technical expertise, sharp analytical skills, and close collaboration with business and tech teams to deliver stable, secure, high-performing payment systems.
🔑 Responsibilities
  • Lead the system architecture and technical solutions for domestic payments platforms

  • Translate complex business needs into robust technical specifications

  • Manage testing cycles, defect resolution, and change control

  • Oversee the deployment and transition of new systems into production

  • Monitor and enhance system performance, including patches and upgrades

  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to resolve incidents effectively

🧠 Requirements
  • 10+ years of technical experience in payments within banking or financial services

  • Strong domain knowledge of domestic, real-time, and settlement payments in the APAC region

  • Proficient in Java/J2EE development

  • Familiarity with SDLC and Agile methodologies

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills

  • Experience with IBM FTM Payments (or equivalent platforms) is highly advantageous
