Compliance Manager
Job description
The Compliance Manager will be responsible with overseeing the company's regulatory compliance framework, emphasising data privacy and protection. This role involves ensuring compliance with local and international laws, managing risk and developing policies to maintain corporate integrity and ethical business practices.
Responsibilities
Ensure the company’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations and industry standards, particularly in data protection (e.g., GDPR, PDPA, CCPA, etc.)
Develop, implement and monitor data privacy policies and procedures to safeguard sensitive company and customer information
Identify, assess and mitigate legal and compliance risks across business operations
Draft, review and update internal policies and procedures to align with evolving legal and regulatory requirements
Conduct compliance training programs for employees on legal and data protection policies
Liaise with regulatory bodies, external legal counsel and internal stakeholders to ensure ongoing compliance
Respond to compliance violations, data breaches and other legal issues with appropriate corrective measures
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Business or Commerce
Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience in legal and compliance roles, preferably within an MNC
Working knowledge of global and regional data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, PDPA, CCPA)
Experience in handling corporate governance, regulatory compliance and risk management
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Evidence of good analytical and problem-solving skills
