A premier banking institution in the Philippines is embarking embark on an organisation-wide digital transformation journey. They are seeking a dynamic and experienced Engineering Manager to lead their engineering team towards achieving their strategic objectives. In this role, you will lead their engineering team in developing and maintaining cutting-edge technology solutions for their banking operations. As an ideal candidate, you will will have a strong background in software engineering, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of successfully managing engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.

 Your Role: 
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Technical Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive technical strategy aligned with the bank's business objectives, driving innovation and efficiency.

  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with stakeholders from various departments, including product management, IT, and business operations, to understand requirements and prioritize engineering efforts accordingly.

  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and expertise to the engineering team, leveraging your deep understanding of software development best practices, architecture, and emerging technologies.

  • Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain robust quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of banking systems and applications.

  • Talent Acquisition and Development: Recruit top talent, onboard new team members effectively, and provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of the engineering team.

  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in software systems and implement proactive measures to mitigate them, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.

  • Proven track record of successfully leading high-performing engineering teams in delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.

  • Strong technical expertise in software development methodologies, tools, and technologies, including but not limited to Java, Python, .NET, SQL, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Deep understanding of banking operations, financial services, and regulatory requirements in the Philippines is highly desirable.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Agile, ITIL) would be an advantage.
