A premier banking institution in the Philippines is embarking embark on an organisation-wide digital transformation journey. They are seeking a dynamic and experienced Engineering Manager to lead their engineering team towards achieving their strategic objectives. In this role, you will lead their engineering team in developing and maintaining cutting-edge technology solutions for their banking operations. As an ideal candidate, you will will have a strong background in software engineering, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of successfully managing engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
Your Role:
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Technical Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive technical strategy aligned with the bank's business objectives, driving innovation and efficiency.
Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with stakeholders from various departments, including product management, IT, and business operations, to understand requirements and prioritize engineering efforts accordingly.
Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and expertise to the engineering team, leveraging your deep understanding of software development best practices, architecture, and emerging technologies.
Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain robust quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of banking systems and applications.
Talent Acquisition and Development: Recruit top talent, onboard new team members effectively, and provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of the engineering team.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in software systems and implement proactive measures to mitigate them, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
Proven track record of successfully leading high-performing engineering teams in delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.
Strong technical expertise in software development methodologies, tools, and technologies, including but not limited to Java, Python, .NET, SQL, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Deep understanding of banking operations, financial services, and regulatory requirements in the Philippines is highly desirable.
Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Agile, ITIL) would be an advantage.
