Head of Cloud Platform

Job description

​We're currently partnering with a large-scale technology organisation undergoing a significant cloud transformation programme and looking to appoint a Head of Cloud Platform.
This is a technical leadership role, leading a team of 10-15 engineers and will be responsible for shaping the organisation's cloud platform strategy, architecture and engineering standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of cloud and platform engineers

  • Drive the design and implementation of scalable, secure cloud platforms

  • Shape cloud architecture and engineering best practices

  • Partner with senior stakeholders to deliver large-scale transformation initiatives

  • Foster a product-minded, user-centric approach to platform development

Requirements

  • 15+ years' experience in software engineering, platform engineering, SRE or DevOps

  • Strong experience designing and operating cloud platforms in AWS and/or Oracle Cloud

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automation and cloud-native technologies

  • Experience leading engineering teams and driving technical decisions

  • Ability to balance hands-on technical discussions with leadership responsibilities
