Engineering Lead
Job description
We are partnering with a leading global organization in the Banking and Financial Services sector that is seeking an experienced Lead Engineer to drive the architecture, engineering strategy, and delivery of next-generation payment solutions. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for providing architectural direction, fostering engineering excellence across multiple teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of scalable, secure, and regulatory-compliant payment platforms.
Responsibilities
Define and govern end-to-end architecture for domestic and cross-border payment systems.
Design secure, scalable, and resilient API-driven microservices solutions aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Champion modern software development practices, including CI/CD, DevSecOps, automation, and cloud-native architectures..
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, enterprise architecture standards, and governance frameworks.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends within the payments landscape.
Lead modernisation efforts across payment platforms and digital channels
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
8–12 years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, or technology leadership roles.
Strong expertise in Java and Microservices Architecture within enterprise-scale environments.
Deep understanding of Domestic and Cross-Border Payments, payment processing, and retail banking systems.
Strong knowledge of ISO8583 messaging standards and payment transaction flows.
Experience designing and implementing API-based payment solutions.
Expertise in payment gateways, transaction processing systems, and digital payment platforms.
Solid understanding of encryption, authentication, and payment security principles.
Experience producing solution architecture documents, technical designs, and functional specifications.
